Victory
I see the grave of Emmett Till shaking
I hear the voices of all the unsung heroes of the fight
Who never gave up, never gave in
Til the very end
Even if it meant losing their life
They knew that it wasn’t in vain
I can feel the scars and welps in the whip-lashed backs burning
I can feel the vertebrae of those who were hanged
I can feel the dry bones of those burned up in the holocaust
All rejoicing in unison
Like a chorus, a symphony
How sweet and melodious the sound!
I hear the voices of all the unsung heroes of the fight
Who never gave up, never gave in
Til the very end
Even if it meant losing their life
They knew that it wasn’t in vain
I can feel the scars and welps in the whip-lashed backs burning
I can feel the vertebrae of those who were hanged
I can feel the dry bones of those burned up in the holocaust
All rejoicing in unison
Like a chorus, a symphony
How sweet and melodious the sound!
