Recession, What Recession?

Posted in diamondisms with tags , , , , , on September 23, 2008 by diamondjones
it is amazing to me how the president and congress can come up with $700 billion to help “fix the economic crisis” and bailout these major banks, but it cannot help the poor, needy, homeless, and hungry.

it is amazing how all of a sudden this “emergency money” appears and how a “bailout plan” is necessary and essential when the woes of wall street and “rich people’s money” are ever-so-present….

people running hogwild scared. get a grip.

didnt see people running nowhere near this scared when hurricaine Katrina came down. didnt see no one near as concerned with other global tragedies. think about it. to name few major things that have gone unnoticed: our gulf coast is still not rebuilt (being unprepared for Ike was evidence of that), we have veterans who do not have a place to live or adequate healthcare, and there are millions of people who cannot get an education because they cannot afford it. i didnt see a $700 billion bailout plan for any of these things.

oh and lets not forget, this “bailout” is going to cost each American $2,300!!! (according to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke)

what a hoax, what a joke.
give me a break.

It’s Time to Pray!

Ten thousand people representing over 100 churches gathered for Prayer in the Square in 2007 to pray for New York City.

On September 7, 2008, we will be gathering again in Times Square to pray for New York City and for the future of the United States of America. We invite churches representing all denominations to gather with us for this event.

Prayer in the Square is an opportunity for all believers in Jesus Christ to gather together under one banner, for one hour, and pray for the future of our city and our nation.

A choir of over 180 voices will sing worship songs, and individuals will pray at intervals for approximately three minutes each. The entire event will be simulcast on the News Astrovision screen at One Times Square, on STAR 99.1 FM (New York), WEVA 105.1 (Washington DC) and XM Radio, Channel 170 (Satellite radio). There will also be a live webcast at nycprayer.org and star991fm.com
